Installing a horse arena involves site preparation including marking the dimensions and excavating to remove topsoil and vegetation, installing a drainage system to prevent waterlogging, laying a geotextile membrane to separate layers and prevent weed growth, and building a compacted stone sub-base. A final riding surface, typically silica sand or a blend with rubber crumb, is added on top. Proper fencing, gates, and optional lighting are also crucial for a functional and safe arena.
